THAI Organizes Activities to Celebrate the 60th Anniversary
of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne
(Wednesday 24th May
2006), Thai Airways International Public Company Limited
announced its activities to celebrate the 60th Anniversary
of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne
in 2006 and held a ceremony for signing the commemorative
book as part of the celebrations. The ceremony was presided
over by Mr. Somchainuk Engtrakul, THAI’s Chairman
of the Executive Board, Flg. Off. Apinan Sumanaseni, THAI’s
President, and Mr. Suraphon Svetasreni, Deputy Governor
for Public Relations, Tourism Authority of Thailand together
with THAI’s Management and employees.

THAI’s President, said that on the auspicious occasion,
THAI held a ceremony for signing the commemorative book
as part of the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of His
Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne starting
today until July 2006.
Other projects
and activities organized by THAI are:

“Thailand
Homecoming” project aims to invite Thai people residing
abroad to visit their hometown. Customers who buy 2 air
tickets or 2 ROH packages will receive a return tickets
for any domestic flight with special discount of the ROH
package tour in Thailand including 20 kilograms of excess
baggage allowance for each person. Also, they will receive
a ticket for the rehearsal round of the Royal Barge Procession
together with a Royal Emblem pin and wishing card.

THAI is supporting
and promoting the event worldwide by putting the Royal
Emblem on every THAI’s aircraft door effective as
of June onwards and showing the documentary about His
Majesty the King’s biography and his royal duties
in THAI’s inflight entertainment program during
1 – 30 June 2006.

THAI will place
billboards with His Majesty’s message at every point
of THAI’s domestic operating destinations which
are Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Ubon Ratchathani, Khon Kaen,
Phuket and Songkhla and at points on the way from Bangkok
to His Majesty’s Sans-Souci Residence in Prajuabkirikhan
during June to 31 December 2006.

THAI displays a
large image of His Majesty the King in front side of Building
1, THAI’s Head Office.

As for customer
services, THAI will serve grilled rainbow trout, from
the Royal Project Foundation, & Thai herb sauce with
tri-coloured rice for the Royal First Class passengers
on every flight departing from Bangkok on 9 June 2006.
And THAI will serve Mahachanok mango for Royal First and
Royal Silk Class passengers on every flight departing
from Bangkok during 1 – 15 June 2006.

THAI invited leading
and well-known international media including magazines
and newspaper to attend the events held by the public
and private sector to witness the grand celebrations and
help Thailand promote this auspicious worldwide.

THAI will transfer
orchids, garlands of flowers, Thai food ingredients and
Thai fruit for Thai embassies and consular sections abroad
where THAI operates flights.

THAI will cater
food and beverages for VIPs in the royal ceremonies.

Organizing a ceremony
in New York where Dr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Secretary-General
of the Chaipattana Foundation, gave a lecture to the Thai
people.
THAI also supports
activities held by the public sector as follows:

THAI is providing
10 million baht for the royal exhibition held during 26
May – 4 June 2006 at IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani and
offers special discount of air tickets from Chiang Mai,
Chiang Rai, Phitsanulok, Phuket, Krabi, Surat Thani, Hat
Yai, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani and Khon Kaen to Bangkok
as an invitation to customers to attend the exhibition.

THAI and the Office
of Supreme Commander will organize the multimedia presentation
and ceremony of the grand fireworks at the lake bank,
Muang Thong Thani on Saturday, 17 June 2006. The biggest
fireworks in Asia will be shown to over a thousand guests
including leading international media invited by THAI.
