THAI Receives Best Intercontinental Airline,
Norwegian Grand Travel Award 2008

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited recently  received an award for Best Intercontinental Airline in the Norwegian Grand Travel Award 2008 for the fourth consecutive year. The Award was received by THAI’s District Sales Manager in Norway, Mrs. Hilde Hirai, during an award ceremony in Oslo.

The Grand Travel Award was arranged for the 13th time, with 15 different categories. The election was done by a travel trade jury, and also a random selection of  more than 400 travel agents all over Norway.

The total result for the best intercontinental airlines was as follows:
1. Thai Airways
2. British Airways
3. Lufthansa
4. SAS 
5. Finnair
6. KLM

“The key to our success is the combination of a good product and an increasing interest for Thailand and Asia among the Norwegians. In addition, the staff working at the THAI’s office in Oslo are very qualified and are doing an excellent job, and the travel agents love them”, said Mrs. Hilde Hirai, THAI' s Sales Manager in Norway. 

Thailand was also the lucky winner of the very prestigeous award for Best Tourist Country in the World. 12 countries were nominated, and Thailand was the clear winner. The award was received by H.E. Mr. Jullapong Nonsrichai, Thailand’s Ambassador to Norway, together with Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand in Scandinavia, Mr. Manit Boonchim.
